Arthur was abandoned in a field before being rescued by Munchkins. He has undergone a hernia operation and as well as surgery to repair a meniscal tear, but none of that stops him from being a friendly and sociable pony. Arthur gets along wonderfully with both people and ponies, making him a perfect fit as one of our petting ponies. He’s often found spending time with his best friends Zebedee, Womble, and Tiggy. Arthur will always be a good friend to any pony that needs it.

Bam Bam, like Arthur, was abandoned before finding a safe home at Munchkins. He has faced challenges with colic in the past and has ongoing issues with his stifles, hip, and patella. Despite this, Bam Bam is a friendly pony who adores attention and thrives in the company of people. He has formed a strong bond with Lady and Peter, and because of their close connection, he would only be rehomed as part of their trio.

Bear was rescued from the sales after being separated from his mother at just four months old. Terrified of people and completely feral, he faced a difficult start at Munchkins. With patience and understanding, Bear is now worked with by select handlers who are helping him gain confidence, especially with using a head collar. His progress has been remarkable, and it’s heart warming to see him slowly learn to trust. Bear has also discovered a love for playing with the other ponies, which brings out his playful and spirited nature.

Benjamin arrived at Munchkins as a stallion from an RSPCA neglect case, along with Peter, Tiggy, and Jemima. The group was in terrible condition, riddled with lice and suffering from neglect. Initially, Benjamin was very aggressive toward other ponies and resource-guarded his food, likely a result of his difficult past. Over time, with proper care and patience, he has settled in well at Munchkins. He now gets along with many of the ponies and spends much of his time with Jemima, forming a close bond with her. He has been diagnosed with Arthritis in his hocks and is being treated for his condition

Black Jack arrived at Munchkins via World Horse Welfare, accompanied by his lifelong companion, Winnie the Pooh, after their owner passed away. Black Jack has a history of laminitis and is now managing Cushing’s disease with daily medication. He shares a deep and unbreakable bond with Winnie, and the two will only be rehomed together. Though initially reserved, Black Jack is a gentle and kind pony who becomes very friendly once he gets to know you. He has also made good friends with the rest of the herd at Munchkins.

Blossom arrived at Munchkins in a severely neglected state alongside her foal, Sweet Pea. She is an incredibly nervous pony, and it has taken a great deal of time and patience to build her trust in people. While we continue to work on managing her anxiety, Blossom has shown slow but steady progress. She suffers from poor dental health, which prevents her from eating hay, and she also has arthritis. Despite her challenges, Blossom has formed a close bond with Christie, and the two are rarely seen apart.

Bonnie came to Munchkins through our welfare officer, diagnosed with dwarfism and having very twisted back legs. Despite these challenges, she is a friendly and affectionate pony. Bonnie shares a special bond with Luna, our blind pony, and acts as one of her guides. She is also good friends with Mabel and Jester, and enjoys spending time with them. Bonnie’s calm and caring nature makes her an important and loved member of the Munchkins family.

Bonny arrived at Munchkins with her foal, Lil' Man, after her owner could no longer care for him. Lil' Man faced many health challenges due to joint and skeletal deformities and sadly passed away in 2024 due to heart failure. Bonny has since settled well within the herd, though she has some ongoing health issues. She suffers from breathing problems and must avoid dry hay, as it can worsen her condition. Bonny is also terrified of the vet and requires extra care and attention during medical visits. Despite these challenges, Bonny remains a gentle and resilient pony who continues to receive the care and love she deserves at Munchkins.

Chip came to us after his owners could no longer care for him. He has had a difficult past, moving through several owners before finally finding a safe and loving home at Munchkins. Chip has struggled to get along with other ponies in the past, so he is kept with a select few horses that he has formed trusting bonds with. Chip now lives in a quiet herd with his friend Pasha as the two have very similar personalities and can be rehomed together.

Christie, originally named Panda, was rescued in 2021 by our welfare officer from a difficult situation. Her original owners had traced her through a photo and were devastated to learn that she had not gone to a good home, as they had believed. Christie is a very nervous pony, and she struggles with dental issues that prevent her from eating hay, along with arthritis and Cushing's. She has formed a close bond with Blossom, and the two are inseparable companions. With time and patience, Christie has started to gain trust and settle in at Munchkins, where she continues to receive the care and attention she needs.

Cookie is a miniature pony with dwarfism who arrived at Munchkins alongside Tillie and Teddie when their owners could no longer care for them. Cookie is very good friends with Teddie and the two are very often seen together. Despite her tiny size, Cookie has a big personality and takes her food very seriously. She’s the queen of the dinner table, making sure everyone knows her plate is hers alone. It’s all part of her charm, and we love her feisty, spirited ways!

Crumble came to Munchkins when his owner’s health meant they could no longer care for him. Despite facing challenges like dwarfism, club feet, and arthritis that make walking difficult, Crumble’s affectionate nature and cheeky personality shine through. He’s a lovable little pony who never fails to bring a smile to everyone he meets.

Daisy arrived at Munchkins with her two foals, Daphne and Dandy, after her owner could no longer care for them. Daphne is her biological foal, while Dandy was adopted by Daisy after his mother—Daisy’s close companion—passed away when he was just three days old. Daisy is a calm and gentle pony who now enjoys peaceful moments with her friends, spending time away from the main herd now that her foals are weaned.

Damson arrived at Munchkins alongside her close companion Delilah, both rescued through World Horse Welfare. When they arrived, they were in poor condition, with minimal handling and severely neglected teeth. Damson and Delilah share an unbreakable bond and are rarely seen apart. Since settling into the herd, Damson has blossomed into a friendly and playful pony, often joining in the geldings’ lively games and showing her spirited personality.

Dandy is Daisy's adopted foal, taken in by her after his mother passed away when he was just 3 days old. Raised alongside Daphne as though they were twins, the two share a deep bond and are rarely apart, often playing together or sleeping side by side. Dandy is full of playful energy and cheeky charm, always eager to make friends—whether it’s with other ponies or people. His mischievous nature and friendly personality make him a true delight to have at Munchkins. He has recently been diagnosed with a severely luxating patella which will need surgery to be fixed.

Daphne is Daisy's biological foal and shares her mother’s sweet and gentle nature. Daphne has a neurological condition that affects her coordination, making it difficult for her to gauge the position of her legs, which can sometimes make tasks like handling and hoof trimming a little challenging. However, this condition doesn’t cause her any pain or discomfort, and she still loves to run and play with the other ponies. Daphne’s eyes require extra care, as they can become weepy and crusty if not cleaned regularly, but this doesn't hinder her from enjoying life to the fullest. Her joyful spirit and affectionate nature make her a beloved member of the herd.

Delilah arrived alongside her friend Damson from World Horse Welfare. While she has made great strides in adjusting to her new home, Delilah is still not fully comfortable with handling. She is very anxiously attached to Damson and experiences separation anxiety when apart from her. Delilah also tends to resource guard food, which can make her a bit protective at times. Despite these challenges, she is friendly enough to greet people and is gradually becoming more relaxed around the staff and volunteers. With time and patience, we hope Delilah will continue to build her confidence and feel more at ease in her new environment.

Domino was rescued from the sales after spending his life as a breeding stallion. Since arriving at Munchkins, he has been castrated and has undergone a lot of care to address the health issues he came with. Domino was in poor condition, suffering from lice, a collapsed crest, anaemia, liver problems, EMS, and very bad teeth. Despite all these challenges, he is a very gentle and loving pony. Domino enjoys the company of his friends, particularly George, Sherbet, and Felicity, with whom he shares a strong bond. His sweet nature and resilience have made him a cherished member of the herd.

Dottie arrived at Munchkins several years ago as part of a multi-horse rescue case. She has since been cared for and now enjoys a stable life. Dottie suffers from sweet itch, hock arthritis, and is prone to laminitis, so she requires extra care to manage these conditions. Dottie is a friendly and affectionate pony, best friends with Toffee. The two are inseparable and are almost always seen together. Dottie also has a love for her food, especially herbs, which she enjoys very much.

Felicity has been with Munchkins since the very beginning and is one of our original residents. She lives with several health conditions, including arthritis, Cushing's disease, and laminitis, which are carefully managed. Additionally, she has spondylosis in her spine and struggles with skin issues due to her Cushing's. Felicity has a gentle and friendly temperament. She has been a beloved petting pony and is particularly good around children, making her a favourite with visitors.

George arrived at Munchkins when his owner was no longer able to care for him. He suffers from arthritis and EMS, and he is off grass to prevent laminitis. George has had some breathing issues, so he is fed soaked hay to help manage this. George is a calm and gentle pony with a quiet nature. He is great friends with Domino and Popcorn, and he enjoys a bit of attention from visitors.

Hector is a bit bigger than most of our ponies, as he's a Shetland cross with a cob. He arrived at Munchkins with his best friend Hattie when their owner could no longer care for them. Hector has arthritis, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying playtime with the other ponies. He’s a cheeky and charming pony, always insisting on attention from anyone who’s nearby. His playful personality and love for company make him a favourite at the rescue.

Henry is a former driving pony who arrived at Munchkins with his companion Teddy, after their owner could no longer care for them. With his quiet and sweet nature, Henry is a pleasure to be around. He is very closely bonded with Nutmeg. Henry has arthritis, dental problems, and Cushing's, which require ongoing management, but his gentle demeanour and affectionate nature make him a calm and loving presence at the rescue. As Henry is very attached to Nutmeg, he will not be rehomed.

Herbie arrived at Munchkins after his owner’s circumstances meant he had to be rehomed. A very friendly pony, Herbie is great with children and has been used as a petting pony for educational visits and fundraising events. Despite his age, he remains a gentle and affectionate companion. Herbie has arthritis in his spine and deteriorating teeth, which require special care and attention. His easy-going nature and love for human interaction make him a beloved member of the Munchkins family.

Honey came to Munchkins with her mother, Beauty, and sister, Amber, after their owner could no longer care for them. Honey is defensive of her personal space, especially when it comes to her food. However, once you get to know her, she’s a sweet and affectionate pony who loves attention and scratches. Currently, Honey lives at a foster home near Munchkins with her best friend Rolo, and she’s thriving in her new environment.

Jemima arrived at Munchkins as part of an RSPCA rescue case, alongside Peter, Tiggy, and Benjamin, all of whom had suffered severe neglect. They were in terrible condition—emaciated, riddled with lice, and understandably wary of people. Since coming to Munchkins, they have been given everything they need and have learned that resource guarding food is not something they need to do. Jemima has strong bonds with Benjamin, Tiggy, and Zebedee, and she has come a long way from the frightened pony she once was. Now, she eagerly welcomes attention and happily greets you for scratches.

Jester arrived at Munchkins with his half-brother Jafa after their owner could no longer look after them. He has Cushing's disease, which means his time on grass needs to be managed carefully. Jester can be a bit defensive around other geldings, but he has shown to be a really lovely pony. He has formed a special bond with Luna, our blind pony, and the two will share a food bowl together. Jester is very sweet and always looking out for his girls—Luna, Mabel, and Bonnie. Despite his initial defensiveness, Jester has proven to be a gentle and caring companion.

Lady was rescued from her previous owner and arrived at Munchkins terrified of people. She has arthritis and is prone to laminitis, so she spends most of her time off grass. Lady shares a very special bond with Bam Bam and has recently made friends with Peter too. Since arriving at Munchkins, she has grown significantly in confidence and is almost unrecognizable from the scared pony she once was.

Luna was abandoned on the side of a busy road and arrived at Munchkins with a number of challenges, including blindness, EMS, and arthritis. Despite this, she has settled well and enjoys the company of her close friends—Jester, Mabel, and Bonnie. Though blind, Luna has an impressive ability to navigate her surroundings, finding her way to food and water without difficulty. She spends most of her time in a familiar field, where she feels safe and secure. Luna is a gentle and independent pony, proving that with time and care, even the most difficult situations can improve.

Mabel came to us after her previous owner struggled to meet her needs, and she had been unfairly labeled as unpredictable and difficult. In reality, Mabel is an incredibly intelligent pony who simply needed someone who could understand her. She does have some anxiety, particularly when it comes to the vet and farrier, but once you learn her cues and signals, she becomes much calmer and easier to work with. Sadly, many ponies like Mabel are misunderstood, but at Munchkins, she is receiving the patience and care she deserves. Mabel also has dwarfism, arthritis, and twisted back legs, but her small size and unique personality make her a beloved member of the herd.

Marmite was rescued from his previous owner in a very poor condition, arriving thin and underweight. Despite his rough start, he has a quiet, sweet, and gentle nature that makes him a pleasure to be around. Marmite struggles to put on weight and can be a bit fussy with food, so finding the right nourishment for him is a bit of a challenge. He also has Cushing's and arthritis, which require careful management, but with the right care, Marmite is thriving and enjoying life at Munchkins.

Nutmeg was rescued from the sales after spending years as a brood mare. When she arrived at Munchkins, she was heavily pregnant and gave birth to her foal, Shadow, in 2015. Initially, Nutmeg was incredibly nervous and almost impossible to handle due to her past experiences. Over the years, Nutmeg has faced health challenges, including Cushing's, arthritis, and deteriorating teeth as she ages. However, with patience and care, she has settled in beautifully at Munchkins and now enjoys much more confidence around people. Nutmeg’s journey has been one of resilience, and she is now a much calmer and more trusting pony.

Ozzy arrived at Munchkins at just 3 months old with his mother, Duchess. Now 10 years old, Ozzy faces the challenge of deteriorating teeth, which are making it difficult for him to eat hay, something he will likely no longer be able to manage in the near future. Despite his health issues, Ozzy has a wonderful, cheeky personality. He loves to play and has formed close friendships with the other boys, especially Womble and Bear. His playful nature and affectionate character make him a favourite among the herd and those who spend time with him.

Pasha arrived at Munchkins when his owner could no longer care for him. He has EMS, laminitis, and Cushing's, which means he cannot be allowed on grass. Despite these challenges, Pasha is an incredibly loyal pony with a love for running and playing with his herd. Pasha now lives in a quiet herd with Chip as the two are learning to be friends so they can be rehomed together. He is very trusting of people, even willing to lead without a rope. Pasha's wonderful temperament makes him a joy to be around, and his strong bond with both people and ponies is clear to see.

Peter came to Munchkins as part of an RSPCA rescue case of neglect alongside Tiggy, Benjamin, and Jemima. Before being gelded, Peter and Benjamin often fought due to their stallion instincts, but since their castration, both have become much calmer and friendlier ponies. Unlike his companions, Peter had a harder time settling in at Munchkins, as his stallion-like demeanour initially made the other ponies see him as a threat. Over time, he found solace and friendship with Lady and Bam Bam, who he now feels safe around. Peter has sweet itch, likely Cushing’s, and struggles with skin issues and maintaining his weight, but he remains a resilient and gentle soul. As he is very closely bonded with lady and bam bam, he would only be rehomed with them.

Popcorn arrived at Munchkins with her mother, Whisper, after their owner could no longer care for them. She is a stunning pony with a sweet nature and loves spending her days alongside her best friend, Skye. Popcorn has a history of laminitis and lives with EMS, so she thrives on our track system where she stays off grass. Despite her challenges, she enjoys her time running around and soaking up love and attention from the volunteers.

Princess arrived from the RSPCA as a rescue case and is now safe in her forever home with us. Princess is a miniature horse, not a Shetland, and has had a tough start in life. She came to us with severely overgrown teeth, and she will be undergoing treatment to have nine teeth removed to help ease her discomfort. She is still a little nervous around humans, but with time, patience, and kindness, she is settling in well. She has also found some friends in the herd, which is helping her gain confidence in her new environment. We can’t wait to see Princess flourish as she receives the love and care she deserves!

Reggie joined Munchkins in 2023 after his elderly owner could no longer provide the care he needed. Having had laminitis in the past, he now lives off grass on our track system. Reggie adores his mares and can often be found spending time with Skye, Honey, Popcorn, and Lady. Despite acting tough in the herd, he’s really a big softy at heart. Friendly and playful, Reggie enjoys playing with the other geldings and is always affectionate with his friends and the volunteers.

Rolo joined us in 2019 as an aged stallion in his 20s. When he arrived, he was very frightened of people, had overgrown teeth, and was partially sighted. Struggling to eat hay, he now has access to good grass to suit his needs. Rolo currently lives in a foster home near Munchkins with his girlfriend, Honey. Munchkins continues to cover all his care, and he is available to sponsor.

Sherbet arrived in 2022 after her owner became too ill to care for her. She has a range of health challenges, including arthritis, Cushing’s, and a tendency toward laminitis. Sherbet has also dealt with dental issues, requiring the removal of some teeth, and has undergone successful surgery to remove a tumour from her mammary gland. She has recovered well and enjoys spending her nights in the barn with her close friends, Domino and Felicity.

Skye came to Munchkins after her owner, who had tried his best for her, could no longer provide the care she needed. Born into neglect, her original owner was convicted, leaving Skye deeply fearful of people. She has been with us for several years now and is slowly beginning to trust again. Though her recovery from past trauma will take time, Munchkins will always be her safe haven. It’s also possible that Skye may be partially sighted, but this doesn’t stop her from finding her place among the herd with her friends popcorn and honey.

Star arrived at Munchkins with his mother, Twinkle, in 2015 after their owner could no longer care for them. He later went to a new home but has recently returned to us. Star is very fearful of the vets and has become defensive around people and food, often reacting aggressively. It will take time and patience to rebuild his trust, but he is beginning to settle into the herd. He’s already made a special friend in Bear, and the two love racing around the fields together.

Teddie arrived at Munchkins in 2023 with his friends Cookie and Tillie. A stunning cremello pony, Teddie has arthritis, dwarfism, and poor teeth. He spends much of his time in a small herd in one of our fields, often found side by side with his best friend, Cookie. Despite his health challenges, Teddie is a gentle and sweet soul, always ready to enjoy some affection from people.

Tedi (spelled the Welsh way in honour of his roots) came to us through our welfare officer after it became clear that his previous home, while well-meaning, didn’t have the right knowledge to care for a miniature Shetland. He is currently still a stallion but will be gelded soon as part of his care plan. Tedi is a gentle and affectionate little pony who has quickly become a firm favourite with our volunteers — he loves attention and will always greet you with a cheerful whinny when he sees people.

Tiggy arrived in April 2024 with Peter, Benjamin, and Jemima as part of an RSPCA rescue case of neglect. She was extremely thin, in very poor condition, and covered in lice. Initially, Tiggy was very wary of people and would kick if you got too close, refusing to let anyone touch her. But with time, she has blossomed into one of our friendliest ponies, full of life and character. Tiggy now enjoys mutual grooming sessions and will happily engage with you for a scratch. She is completely unrecognizable from the emaciated pony who first arrived, and her transformation is a perfect example of why Munchkins exists.

Tim, also known as Tiny Tim, is a cute little miniature Shetland with a cheeky personality that wins over everyone he meets. He arrived at Munchkins after his owner could no longer care for him and had spent some time in a vet hospital due to a reaction to his Cushing's medication. In addition to Cushing's, Tim is prone to laminitis and has had issues with his teeth. Despite these challenges, he's a much-loved pony at Munchkins and he certainly knows it! Tim is always the first to greet you, and his playful nature brings a smile to everyone's face.

Toffee joined us as part of a rescue from World Horse Welfare. She has several health challenges, including sweet itch, laminitis, allergies, EMS, and severe front hoof problems. To manage her conditions, her weight is carefully monitored, and she is on a diet of soaked hay and mash feeds along with medication. Despite these challenges, Toffee is an absolute star when it comes to handling—perhaps our most well-behaved pony! She is wonderful with people and other ponies and spends much of her time with her best friend, Dottie. Toffee is also one of our beloved ponies available for our "Walk a Pony" sessions, where visitors absolutely adore her gentle and kind nature.

Tom came to us after his owner could no longer care for him. He has a nervous twitch and can become quite anxious around people, making him difficult to handle and unable to lead on a head collar. However, with the help of our behavioural specialist, Tom is slowly making progress and building his confidence. He finds comfort in the company of his good friend Ozzy and enjoys life in a small, peaceful herd in one of our fields.

Twinkle arrived at Munchkins in 2015 with her foal, Star, after her owner could no longer care for them. Initially, she was incredibly nervous and difficult to handle. While she remains anxious, Twinkle has begun to build trust in people and will occasionally allow grooming or scratches. She has arthritis, weepy eyes, and Cushing’s disease, which causes skin issues, along with very poor teeth due to her old age, and it is challenging to administer her medication. Despite her health problems, Twinkle loves spending time with her best friends, Bert and Poppet, and still enjoys running around the fields with them.

Velvet came to us with a heart-breaking history of abuse, leaving her incredibly anxious and wary of people. She is trusting of only a few individuals, and we are working patiently to help her overcome her fears. Catching her for vet visits is impossible, but her priority at this time is her mental state. Velvet has arthritis and very poor teeth, requiring extra mash feeds in the winter to ensure she gets enough nutrition. Despite her struggles, she is happy at Munchkins with her friends and, with time and care, we hope she will learn to trust people again.

Willow arrived at Munchkins as a 3-month-old foal with her mother, Silver, from another sanctuary. She has sweet itch but doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. Willow is incredibly playful and loves nothing more than running around and exploring her surroundings. She has made some wonderful friends within the herd and is always friendly and curious, eagerly coming to greet you whenever she sees you.

Winnie arrived at Munchkins from World Horse Welfare alongside his best friend, Black Jack, after their elderly owner passed away. He has a history of laminitis and is on medication for Cushing's disease. Though reserved at first, Winnie warms up quickly and becomes incredibly friendly once he gets to know you.

Womble was rescued by our welfare officer a few years ago and has become a much-loved member of Munchkins. He has twisted fetlocks and arthritis in his back legs, and his crooked adult teeth have required dental treatment. Despite these challenges, Womble’s cheeky and playful personality shines through. There isn’t a pony he can’t convince to join in his games! He loves greeting new arrivals and gets very excited whenever a new pony joins his field. Womble is best friends with Zebedee but gets along with just about everyone.

Zebedee was rescued by our welfare officer in 2023, arriving severely underweight with a coat in terrible condition. He also has a weepy eye and crooked back legs. Initially very nervous around people and other ponies, Zebedee has blossomed into one of our most affectionate ponies, thanks in part to his close friendship with Womble. He now spends most of his time with his girlfriend, Tiggy, and is a wonderful companion to Benjamin, Jemima, and Arthur.
