Well folks Tim here, the last day of 2026 was cold (minus 4 in the morning.) Wednesday or New Years Eve, is also Mummy Munchkins birthday so it was a busy day at HQ today! We had a few extra volunteers who kindly came out to help as the normal team are somewhat decimated by the winter lurgi ! But our dedicated volunteers stepped up and our needs were met, so thank you all guys, we really do appreciate all you do.
We knew it was cold when we went for a drink this morning, the troughs had a screen of ice over them! Luckily the volunteers arrived and de-iced them for us, check out the picture on the page a whole trough sized ice cube! Arthur did suggest breaking it up into smaller chunks to put in the jingle juice for our new year celebrations tonight! We are hoping that not too many big fireworks are set off close by as many of us really don't like them, hopefully if everyone has a good drink of jingle juice we should be immune to any not so loud noises!! We have plenty of hay so lots of munching teeth sounds should also help.
The other big event of today was Mummy Munchkins birthday! We don't ask her age as it would be rude! But we hope that she had a lovely day and soon recovers from the lurgi that has been making her unwell. We have seen her post about the lovely stables a firm is installing in a new barn , but although they are lovely we think we need to have something slightly more affordable as we still need to pay for the barn concrete and windows! Unless they would donate a set?!
Checkout the video of the two swede manglers enjoying a little enrichment from some of the donated vegetables from a local supermarket! Skye and Bear are certainly sharing the swede nicely, and showing how to chomp pieces off to enjoy eating it!
Well time to get in the party mood with the others now as we all want to watch out for any New Years shooting stars, and to stay warm we all need to eat plenty of hay and fill up on Jingle juice before midnight!
I will return tomorrow with more, TTFN, Oh and
Welcome to the YEAR of the HORSE 2026 !
Tim, Munchkins Head Reporter.
