Tim's Daily Diaries 5/1/2026

Hay folks Tim here with your chilly Sunday news round up! The iced buckets and troughs are still with us and we have had several comments suggesting placing the ice sheets in tubs so that the water can be reused when it thaws, it would also save the water that does melt from re freezing on the ground and being a slip hazard! Very sensible suggestions, thanks folks. The weather people say that the cold is here for a while longer then it is back to rain, possible sleet and snow!

    We have had a few ideas of who the ‘well known person’ could be who is linked to the next fundraiser but none have guessed correctly yet! This equine superstar was a huge personality! Does that help?

   I must thank all the wonderful people who came to help out at HQ today, despite the cold! Thank you guys, things always are easier with many hands! The pictures on the page show the eighteen volunteers thawing out with a cuppa at break time. We really couldn’t do it without you all, see you again next weekend?!

   Thanks to everyone who helped with ideas for keeping our volunteers hands warm, dry and comfy during the cold snap, there are some brilliant ideas and they will all get passed on as different people may get on better with different solutions! Thanks guys.

   Elf May is planning her next fundraiser and has asked me to let you all know some details; Elf May’s husband Clive, is organising his ‘bucket list’ concert, which it is hoped will raise funds for Munchkins! So watch this space and save the date Saturday 31st January please,follow the page for more details.  

     Thank you for the donation of the lovely turquoise blue lead ropes, they will look really smart with our headcollars, and will be nice for the volunteers to lead us around with. Very useful, thankyou.

    There are popup sales reappearing again, so keep an eye out they are only available for a short period of time so don’t miss out, the latest are books and china! I will try to let you know about them but due to the short nature of them I may miss a few!!
