Tim's Daily Diaries 3/1/2026

Hay folks, Tim here with the Friday news roundup. Things are getting beck to a nearly normal routine, still a little light on volunteers as the winter lurgi takes its toll but we are slowly returning to normal. Our mornings are cold and wintery which is definitely appropriate for January! I have heard that higher up the country there are ice and snow warnings, the children will be pleased. Maybe we could hire out the North Pole Postal Ponies to deliver items to people in the snow!!

    The barn is a huge success, check out the report on the page, there were 22 HQ herd members in the barn this morning snuggled in the straw beds, snacking at the hay stations, and generally circulating! That is over a third of the current herd, and still room for more!

    Well the lure of sale bargains has hit and a trip was made to a local farm supply store and purchases were made! The barn area is rapidly being supplied with dedicated equipment, which kept indoors will hopefully last a long time. It really is all coming together!

    The herd are all really excited to see some snow, especially the youngsters! The ice the other morning was quite something. A whole sheet, used for ice cubes for the new years jingle juice! But all the youngsters want to play in the snow! We did tell them that the snow here was not like that in the North Pole, I think they have ideas of building ice houses and skiing in it too!!

    A huge thankyou to everyone who volunteered to do extra shifts to ensure we Munchkins were well supplied with hay and mash and the droppings cleared up, apparently they are easier to collect if they are frozen!! Who would have guessed it?!

   That is it folks, all the news snippets for today, the cartoon identification will be announced soon and the next fundraising item announced too. A huge character who also had daily diaries has supplied the prize, can anyone guess who it is?!
