Hay folks Tim here with your Saturday news update. The weather is colder and soon the days start getting longer! We can barely wait! There are videos and photos on the page to see and a picture of the 'wellness hamper' delivered to Mummy Munchkin!
Firstly, thank you so very much for the lovely Christmas gifts that are arriving daily. Everything from feed and carrots to special Christmas outfits and donations! All the herd ponies, cats, goaties and sheep are extremely grateful and getting more excited by the day. As you read this there are only FOUR more sleeps to go folks!
We are trying to reply to you all individually by email, but a huge THANK YOU ALL.
Just £1 sent to PayPal: munchkinsshetlandrescue@hotmail.com or the usual method on the website goes a long way if EVERYONE joins in! So please give £1 this Christmas!
Many volunteers went to the Christmas meal on Friday and enjoyed a cooked early Christmas lunch. How lucky were they? A bit of light relief after a hard year of heatwaves and torrential rain and floods! Thank you guys we really appreciate all their voluntary hard work to help keep the ponies at HQ happy and healthy. A bittersweet day as Amanda remembered Julia and our ponies who are sadly no longer with us.
As you all read this it is the winter solstice or the shortest day of the year, meaning that we have officially made it through the winter as the number of daylight hours starts to slowly increase again! We did it folks!
Poor Mummy Munchkin has been swept off her feet by the bug that has been doing the rounds, a very kind supporter has sent an emergency wellness hamper to help her heal, Heinz chicken soup, Jakemans lozenges, Vicks Vapor rub, tissues and other items to help beat the bug! Thank you so much for caring.
The Postal Ponies are safely home and they are having a relaxing day unwinding today, and relaying their adventures to the herd members who are all agog to hear about their exploits They really want everyone to enjoy their adventures and to try to raise more money for the winter food fund as with 59 ponies and feed prices higher than last year it is going to be an expensive one! To this end the adventures of the Postal Ponies will be available from my typist if you email proof of donation to her she will email you back the diary of their time away. The donation amount is up to you but you should put Postal Pony Diary as the subject and email the receipt to my typist at carrotspony@yahoo.com . Included in the diary are the skating lessons, Captain Crumble skiing on his hind legs and much more!
Well that is about that for today! I will return tomorrow with more, TTFN,
Tim, Munchkins Head Reporter
